Coupled electrons and pair fluctuations in two dimensions: a transition to superconductivity in a conserving approximation

چکیده

We report on a fully self-consistent determination of a phase transition to a superconducting state in a conserving approximation. The transition temperature calculated for a two-dimensional Hubbard model with an attractive interaction in the fluctuation exchange approximation agrees with quantum Monte Carlo calculations. The temperature dependences of the superfluid density and of the specific heat near Tc indicate that the phase transition in this model of coupled collective degrees of freedom and electronic degrees of freedom is consistent with neither mean-field theory, Gaussian fluctuations about a mean field order parameter, nor unbinding Kosterlitz-Thouless vortices.

Single-Particle Excitations in a Two-Dimensional Strong-Coupling Superconductor

We present calculations of the single-particle excitation spectrum for a 2D strong-coupling superconductor in a conserving approximation. Spectral weight at low frequency is substantially reduced as the superconducting transition is approached from the normal state. The suppression of low-energy excitations is a consequence of Cooper-pair fluctuations that are described self-consistently in the...

On the Superconductivity in the Induced Pairing Model

The two component model of coexisting local electron pairs and itinerant fermions coupled via charge exchange mechanism, which mutually induces superconductivity in both subsystems, is discussed. The cases of isotropic s-wave and anisotropic pairing of extended s and dx2−y2 -wave symmetries are analyzed for a 2D square lattice within the BCS-mean field approximation and the Kosterlitz-Thouless ...

ابررسانایی در نانولوله‌های کربنی تک دیواره

By using Greens function method we first show that the effective interaction between two electrons mediated by plasmon exchange can become attractive which in turn can lead to superconductivity at a high critical temperature in a singl wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT). The superconducting transition temperature Tc for the SWCNT (3,3) obtained by this mechanism agrees with the recent experimental...

Fluctuations in a superconducting quantum critical point of multi-band metals.

In multi-band metals quasi-particles arising from different atomic orbitals coexist at a common Fermi surface. Superconductivity in these materials may appear due to interactions within a band (intra-band) or among the distinct metallic bands (inter-band). Here we consider the suppression of superconductivity in the intra-band case due to hybridization. The fluctuations at the superconducting q...

Spin-fluctuation exchange study of superconductivity in two- and three-dimensional single-band Hubbard models

In order to identify the most favorable situation for superconductivity in the repulsive single-band Hubbard model, we have studied instabilities for d-wave pairing mediated by antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations and p-pairing mediated by ferromagnetic fluctuations with the fluctuation exchange approximation in both two dimensions and three dimensions. By systematically varying the band filling...
